2021.10.27 Tideswell (start / end) bus stop & PC at
SK151.756, ~N on Queens Str into High Str, turn ~W below Manchester Rd, informal
path ~W past Communal Orchard, at SK148.760 join road W then WNW to
Wheston, continue past Boston Farm and at appr SK127.766 find FP ~WNW
leading to top bank edge of Hay Dale, at SK121.770 cross stile and
descend gradually to bottom of Hay Dale, U turn at SK121.770 and follow
Dale ~SE then ~S to skew across road and at SK123.765 enter Peter Dale
and follow ~SSE to road (& Monks Dale not taken), follow
Pennine Bridleway ~S up, then W (above Wormhill village) to skew
cross road at SK123.743 and pass thru Old Hall Farm, continue ~W on
Pennine Bridleway to road at SK111.746, turn ~S for ~240m and leave
Pennine Bridleway on FP
~ESE to Hassop Farm and road to Wormhill, turn ESE on road and
then almost immediately take FP ~S down to Chee Dale Nature Reserve, skew
ESE down to the River Wye, follow river ~ESE passing under Viaduct
(previously for railway now the Monsal Trail), continuing along the River to the
B6049 Rd at SK138.732, ~ENE along the Rd under two railway viaducts to
the small Millers Dale Church, take lower road alongside River past,
Ravenstor at SK157.731 (below the Field Study Centre (unseen) at
SK157.731 V turn up Tideswell Dale then follow Northward to the
Parking Area / PC, follow the road B6049 northward on a path keeping
on its East side but cross the road at the junction SK155.748 (Tideswell /
Liton Dale) and follow the road ~NNW back to Tideswell. Leader Liz
