19th September 2017 - Bassenthwaite, zig-zagging ~SE (crossing Chapel Beck) to 'road' between Melbecks / High Side, ~SSW on Road to NY236310, ~ENE to Barkbeth Farm, ~S to Ullock Pike, Longstone Edge, ~NE then N to Skiddaw beacon, we continued N for ~1km to ~ NY261300*, ~ NW then W down steep 'path', cross Barkbeth Gill then Southerndale Gill, ~N to Barkbeth Farm, and then back to 'road', up to Melbecks, FP ~NNE to Bridleway leading ~W into Bassenthwaite - Tuesday

* a better different ending from this point would be ~NE to Bakestall & then on south side of Dead Crags, Birken Edge to Cumbria Way, ~NW on C.Way then branch ~W on Bridleway (after Peter House Farm) into Bassenthwaite
