2023.01.08 Sunday - Start Fox House bus stop SK.267:803 , SW down then across A6187Rd and on track SSW down & past Lodge and continue to Longshaw Lodge (cafe /PCs), continue ~SSW on track and bend ~W past South end of 'un-named pond at SK.260:796, continue W then S to junct of paths at SK.258:793, SW to Yanncliff Wood at SK.255:791 then ~S crossing unseen rail tunnel then circling to East thru Oaks Wood and then ~W to SK.253;786, ~SSW to 'touch' road at SK.252:784 then on FP ~SSE behind house to Tumbling Hill, S then SE to SK.254:779 (same 'northing' as Grouse Inn) ~W then S thru Hay Wood to FB then SSW / W / SSW / NW to SK.245:772 on the Derwent Vallwy Heritage Way, follow the D.V.H.Way to SK.244:761 and cross Froggatt Bridge, continue S on the West edge of the River Derwent and up to road at the South end of New Bridge (bend of A625), leaving DVHWay go SSE steeply up FP then turn SSW thru Hare Knoll to 'edge', W then SSW down to A623 Rd & across it at SK.241:748, S /W on roads thru Calver to SK.240:745, SSE to then steeply up to Bramley Wood at SK.243:740 (main party continued SW along Bramley Wood (and then on toward Bakewell). Photographer went SSE / S to Road Bend SK.244:735 at Bramley Farm, and followed road southward on edge of Townend Wood past Bubnell Farm then past Bubnell Hall and along road (on edge of River Derwent) to cross road Bridge at SK.251:724 (just NW of Baslow Church), short distance ~E on the road past the Church then turn off ENE thru the village passing the School for about 100m then turn on road S then SE to cross the A619 Road to the bus stop near the PC / Pay Parking Area at Baslow Nether End. Main Party was led by Andrew Irwin - 11 started at Fox House - with 3 walkers branching off to alternative shorter walks - Baslow Nether End (8 miles) & Hathersage.
