2016.09.25 - Coach Ramble - Arnside Round Walk 'A' group. A & B groups followed same route largely on shore edge from Arnside to New Barns where they split. The  'A' group continued to Far Arnside, Hollins Farm & up to Arnside Knott (viewing point)., down to Arnside Cemetery, under rail track and up to Hazelslack Tower, Fairy Steps, through Underlaid Wood to Storth, Sandside (through 'railway cutting', on edge of salt marsh (on old Hincaster railway track) back to Arnside - leaders Susan Rushworth & Jan Randall - Sunday

Arnside Cemetery

Hazelslack Tower - Peel towers (also spelt pele) are small fortified keeps or tower houses, built along the English and Scottish borders in the Scottish Marches and North of England, intended as watch towers where signal fires could be lit by the garrison to warn of approaching danger.
